Read-only keys, stored encrypted

Keys are handed to the server once over HTTPS and written to Supabase Vault, which encrypts secrets at rest. They are decrypted on the server only for the duration of an import, are never returned to the browser, and are deleted from the vault when you remove the connection. The connect form will not accept a key until you confirm it is read-only.

Exchange sync FAQ

Which exchanges can Trnd Tools import trades from?

Read-only API sync is available for Binance, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, Coinbase, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate.io, MEXC (Binance covers both spot and USD-M futures). Any other exchange can be imported through the CSV mapper.

Does the exchange sync need trading or withdrawal permission?

No. Every connection reads trade history only. Create the API key with read-only permission, leave trading and withdrawals disabled, and confirm that in the connect form - the server refuses keys without that confirmation.

What does an import actually write to the journal?

Fills from the exchange are combined into closed trades with entry price, exit price, quantity, direction, fees, gross and net P&L, and open and exit timestamps. Positions still open on the exchange are not written until they close, and re-importing never creates duplicates.

Is exchange sync free?
